Zinc house is an ongoing project for a client who wanted to explore different options for adapting their existing home, making it more versatile and flexible to their growing family needs. For this reason, we explored various options for extending the original footprint including a hip to gable loft conversion with dormer extension along with opening up the ground floor with a small single story extension and proposed glass sliding doors.
You will notice the scheme is somewhat contemporary in its design, this is because the existing building is part of a recent development which allowed us to explore a more modern approach to the satisfaction of the clients. We always consider the local context before preparing any of our design proposals, this ensures the building seamlessly integrates into its surroundings, it also goes a long way in mitigate any issues at the planning approval stage.
